The trilogy is complete! Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Connecticut joins the Corojo and Maduro editions in a three-cigar celebration of success. If you’ve had a recent win and want to bask in the glory of it, this smoke is a fine companion.
Eduardo Fernández and his Casa Fernandez brand have been in business for over 35 years, and the Aniversario shows how far he’s come in his tobacco journey. He started things off the right way with an outstanding team of growers from Cuba. Since then, he has won people over one leaf at a time. His Agricola Norteña S.A. operation is very well respected in the cigar world, and with good reason. His tobacco has been used in cigars that are no stranger to tastemaker best-of lists.
And so, on to the Aniversario, Connecticut.
No blend series is complete without a nice mild-medium Connecticut shade version. That way, you can have this smoke however you want. We started with classic Corojo, moved on to earthy Maduro, and now can enjoy creamy Connecticut. The blend combines Nicaraguan Corojo long-filler from Jalapa and Estelí with a binder of criollo ’98 and an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. The country of Ecuador has become a very popular growing location for CT leaf, thanks to the natural cloud cover. Instead of relying on shade tents, as you might for fields facing direct sunlight, Ecuador can sometimes do away with that.
Nature made the country just right for transplanted Connecticut seed tobacco.
This Aniversario blend series is indeed the company’s best effort. As Aganorsa VP of Sales Terrence Reilly says, it is the “Ultra-Premium expression of Aganorsa.” Not just premium, mind you – ULTRA premium. They’re going way out on that limb to let you know that these tobacco-obsessed teams consider this their best stuff.
You know it’s gunna be good.
Feliz aniversario, Aganorsa! Y muchos mas!
