Cigar tobacco is cultivated primarily across Latin America and the Caribbean, but there’s one thing you just can’t get down there: a true Connecticut wrapper. The real deal comes from, you guessed it, the Connecticut River Valley, right here in the USA. It’s this authentic CT shade-grown wrapper that gives the Ashton Cabinet cigar its characteristic honey sweetness, along with a wealth of other pleasant flavors like almond and vanilla bean. The extra year the wrapper spends aging, when compared to that used on the Ashton Classic, really gives it a more mature taste.
The other thing we find striking about this cigar (as well as the rest of the Ashton brand), is the level of consistency the company is able to achieve, thanks to the Fuente family. Time and time again, you can come to Ashton for a reliably excellent smoke and a flavor profile that is always on point.
Inside the cigar, you’ll find finely aged Dominican tobacco that has developed over the course of four to five years. If we could plan that well, we’d be living different lives by now! Nevertheless, we’re thankful that the cigar and spirits industries are there to look out for us, laying their product by to rest and age for years at a time, then offering it up to us at the absolute height of flavor and maturity. Delicious.
The Ashton Cabinet Series cigar has earned a 90 rating from Cigar Aficionado, and with a clean, elegant blend that never disappoints, we’re right there with them. Please browse and enjoy at your leisure.
