Robert Caldwell is a long way from kingship, but if he keeps up with these fine blends, he’ll likely have a seat at the royal table before too long. This Long Live the King cigar scored a 91 with Cigar Aficionado, so it’s another one to add to a growing list of smoke-worthy sticks from the mind of Caldwell.
Mostly, this one is made with Dominican tobaccos, from the Dominican Corojo wrapper, to the Dominican binder, to the Dominican and Nicaraguan filler blend. The smoke is medium to full bodied, with flavors of cedar, leather, cashew, tanginess and a mineral finish. It’s decently interesting and will keep you smoking for a good length of time as you consider just what exactly this cigar is all about.
Like most Caldwell blends, this smoke is created around the theme of royalty. In many cases, these sticks are about Russian royalty, specifically. We’re not sure if there was anyone in mind or who we’re toasting to, but most of us can surely come up with some leaders or people in our lives we’d like to see stick around.
The next time you’re happy with a person who’s in charge, fire up one of these cigars and smoke to their health and vitality. Better yet, share one with them.
