If you’re not a bourbon fan, Eagle Rare cigars might seem like a brand that came out of nowhere. But whiskey lovers have been downing Eagle Rare bourbon one velvety sip at a time for decades.
Liquor brands change like crazy nowadays, so it takes a real historian to give you the background on this beautiful booze. Charles L. Beam originally created Eagle Rare for Seagram. It was a ten-year 101-proof Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. Nowadays it’s made at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky.
And what a job they do! Eagle Rare cigars will have to go a VERY long way to catch up to the reputation of the whiskey.
Eagle Rare bourbon wins heaps of medals at competitions across the country. The different variations (10 Year, 17 years, Double Eagle Very Rare) each have such a fantastic flavor that they routinely top the charts of the best whiskeys and enjoy stellar ratings. Lucky dads will be getting bottles of the good stuff for many Father’s Days to come.
At the time of this writing, Eagle Rare cigars are a bit of a novelty. The first offering is a gift set made for golfers. But given all the liquor and cigar crossover partnerships out there (e.g. Drew Estate’s Pappy Van Winkle stogies), we wouldn’t be surprised to see this brand line develop over the years. And there’s no doubt about what you should be pairing them with.
