“El Gueguense” was just too hard to say, so they simply went with the English translation for this Maduro-wrapped version, and called it the Wiseman.
The Foundation Wiseman earned a stunning 95 rating, and was named the #3 cigar of 2018 by Cigar Aficionado. The Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper and rich Nicaraguan filler blend put out smoke with the delicious flavors of cocoa powder, vanilla, rich coffee, seared beef, and black pepper. The cigar is named for one of the oldest dramatic works of the Americas – a Nicaraguan “play” called “El Gueguense.” In it, lies and deceit are used to advance agendas, and annual audiences come away shaking their heads at the lengths people will go to when they want to rise to the top. Fortunately for us and for cigar smokers all around the world, Foundation didn’t take the same approach when making the cigar itself.
