One of my new favorites!!
I’m a veteran cigar smoker, the past 10 years I’ve basically been an avid Nicaraguan smoker and the most expensive cigar for me is a Padron 1964 or a 1926 if I’m really into spending $. Then I see a few boxes of these at my cigar lounge and they were pretty pricey, $35+ for a single. Thankfully I know the owners well and they hook us up so I got a huge discount, then a friend told me about this site and I bought quite a few for the amazing prices. Anyway, they had informed me that they didn’t care for them and blah blah blah. So I bought one or two to try, plus I’m a Freud addict, love his books, and figured it probably be okay, not fantastic. Boy was I WRONG!! I smoked it the following week and it was not only a tasty little sucker (I had the Robusto first), very unique from what I normally smoke ( Foundation, My Father Tatuje, etc) it wasn’t my usual pepper bomb. It was subtle, a little earthy with some thing else. I then tried it a few more times and eventually did the research and the tobacco is varied ( different regions, not just Estelli or the glorious San Andres from Mexico), each one in this Ego series is stellar!! But this little one is deadly. If you’re a medium to full strength smoker you will not regret trying this one it’s a medium strength smoke with an even draw, well crafted, doesn’t burn unevenly, and very flavorful. It’s just unique, not much else to Say. . I love Lancers and Toro, definitely a perfecto, but this Robusto now has me rethinking the whole “Size doesn’t matter “. It’s not Dominican, it’s not Honduran, it’s not Nicaraguan….it’s a mix of all depending on the specific blend, but all of them are great!! Alter Ego is another favorite. I wound up buying a mixed box of these guys and now everyone is buying, smoking, and now promoting them. I don’t know your tastes but I would say to buy one of these on here and see. I’m guessing if you’re well conditioned to the nuances that you will understand how well they’re blended. It may not wind up being a favorite but it’s well worth the effort if does.
2 psychologists and their superegos
The image of Freud on the band is hilarious! Big ring size robusto has good flavor and a slow burn. Mine burned a bit unevenly and required relighting a couple of times in the last 25%. A little stronger than medium. An enjoyable smoke with my buddy.
