The L.E. Figurado version of the Jake Wyatt Lucid Interval cigar is a friggin’ work of art! It always makes us feel a little guilty to set fire to something so gorgeous, but that’s the job of a cigar lover. Sometimes you have to burn down something beautiful to make a special memory.
Once you get this thing in your hands, you’ll know what we’re talking about. Even the standard vitolas are special.
Where do we even start? The role of the L.E. Figurado is crazy with detail. It’s got a beautiful ponytail cap (is that the term for it? If not, it should serve well enough until we get an expert in to describe it properly). It’s bursting with tobacco. There’s also a perfecto-style nipple shape on the foot, demonstrating how the smoke will have a perfectly controlled start. And spiraling all down the cigar, there’s a beautiful accent leaf.
But enough gushing about construction. What tobaccos are in the Jake Wyatt Lucid Interval cigar?
Well, we can start with the Dominican filler blend, which can be found in one form or another in most of the initial “Gourmet Collection” from this relatively new cigar brand. Jake Wyatt was conceived of after a trip to the Dominican Republic, and the land that birthed the company now furnishes rich tobacco to nourish it.
It’s the candela that really gets your attention once you start drawing on it, though.
Many companies that put out a candela-wrapped stogie lean into the grassy greenness in the flavor profile, but the Jake Wyatt Lucid Interval cigar comes at things differently. In this blend, the JW team tried to mute those flavors, bringing out other notes and calming the candela flavors, reducing them to a more subtle, background role. The result is smooth, creamy, and toasty. There’s still green tea and cedar in the smoke, but a bold butteriness shot with pepper is also there.
More than any other cigar in the portfolio, this one pairs most fantastically with coffee. It’s a perfect pairing that the company makes sure to recommend, so give it a shot if you decide to pick up some of these stogies.
In a crazy world, this tasty medium-strength smoke is a cigar that brings us to a moment of peace and clear thinking – otherwise known as an interval of lucidity.
