With a Macanudo Maduro Vintage 1997 cigar, the first thing that catches your eye, besides the pitch-black wrapper color, is the metal ring serving as a band. It’s about the same size as your average cigar band and has the branding carved into it. This ring is actually a humidity gauge. If the cigar dries out, the metal band will loosen. If the stick is over humidified, the cigar will inflate and squeeze against the metal ring. Pretty cool souvenir and cigar tool. Though once these metal-ringed cigars sell out, standard cigar bands will replace them.

Dominican, Brazilian, and Nicaraguan long-fillers make up the Macanudo Maduro Vintage 1997 cigar’s core blend. Above these is a Honduran binder. The finishing touch is an uber fermented, oiled-up, 13-year-old Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. The resulting flavors are coffee, roasted nuts, raisins, and dark chocolate.
