Who’s Sharon?

She’s a co-founder of the Southern Draw cigar company, along with her husband Robert Holt. We’ve read that she holds down the fort at company headquarters in Texas while Robert is on the road spreading the good word of Southern Draw Cigars.

For a company that’s all about faith and family, it all begins with the relationship between the Holts, and the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon cigar is a tip of the Texas-sized hat to the “Mrs.” who helps make the magic happen.

Southern Draw Rose of Sharon cigars are filled with a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco. Outside, the cigars are wrapped with a sun grown Ecuadorian Connecticut leaf. It’s light brownish and a touch blonde, much like Sharon herself. The blend includes 25% Piloto Cubano Ligero, so there’s a decent bite to it in terms of pepper. Other flavor notes include light hay, leather, and even some candy sweetness if you stick around long enough to notice it.

The boxes say “She doesn’t know she’s beautiful,” a nod to the classic Sammy Kershaw song from decades ago. We think this would be a fantastic gift for the lady smoker in your life if she likes Connecticut blends. If she thinks that’s too gentle and girly, you can skip it, but this could also be a nice place to start for a woman looking to get started learning how to enjoy cigars.
