Toro Cigars are on the bigger side, but not huge. Somewhere around 6 or 6 and ½ inches long, Toro Cigars have a ring gauge that usually sits in the 50s. Don’t get us wrong – this is a sizeable smoke – but with trends going the way they are, this will probably look small someday when people are all puffing away on ten-inch cigars with punch holes that are an inch in diameter.
At any rate, this is a cigar size that’s gaining in popularity still. Coronas and Robustos are still in the lead (at the time of this writing) and thought of as the best sizes, but our endless appetite for novelty is always driving different types of cigars into the spotlight.
The smoking time for a toro cigar can sometimes climb over an hour and a half or two hours, but as always, this depends on how fast you draw and puff away. If you’re a big-time smoke hound and you like to keep your cigar cherried, it’s going to go by more quickly. If you’re a “sit back and float down the lazy river” kind of smoker, you’ll make it last quite a long time. We’d class Toro Cigars into the “big smoke session” category of cigars, where you’re not planning to do a damn thing other than sitting on your ass for the next few hours (or hopefully the rest of the day).
Toro Cigars are a great companion for doing nothing. But of course, if you’re the type of smoker who likes to keep a cigar going while you get stuff done, a toro cigar will accompany you throughout a project. In the yard, working on your car – that type of stuff. Toros are happy to tag along and won’t quit until you do (unless you’ve got one of those massive pain in the ass jobs to do. In that case, the toro can put in some good time, but there are very few cigars that will do a full day’s work, you know?)

We’ve got My Father’s Flor de Las Antillas toro cigar and that thing is still gorgeous after all these years. That’s a must-try.
