Viaje Holiday Blend cigars are annual releases that brighten up the season with a fresh cigar that we’re always looking forward to. Past years have seen multiple holiday-themed vitolas, but so far the Candy Cane has had the most staying power.
Typically featuring a barber pole wrapper, you get two tobaccos in one right from the outset in the Viaje Holiday Blend Candy Cane cigar. For those who don’t know, a barber pole wrapper uses two different leaves in contrasting colors – usually one dark maduro and one light leaf – to make an effect that looks like a swirling barber pole.

For example, the 2015 Candy Cane cigar used Brazilian arapiraca and Ecuadorian habano for the wrapper blend, and then had Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco inside.
Viaje Holiday Blend cigars come in different shapes and sizes each year, but typically are on the manageable side. The Christmas Tree in particular was a real 4-inch runt, which reminded us of those years when you could only put a really tiny tree up and call it a day.
