Great First Smoke of the Day
What better cigar to start the day off then the 5 Vegas Gold Torpedo! On light up there is a slight nutty taste followed by some peppery notes on the back of the palate. It mellows into a well made stick with a beautiful Connecticut wrapper with ample creaminess. I also taste a toasted almond with just the slightest bit of salt. Construction is excellent. Its firm without soft spots. The draw is effortless and the burn is perfect. No touch ups required. As the cigar reaches the mid point, the pepper dissipates the creaminess increases and smoke is just billowing. Adding to the creaminess, is a sweet caramel flavor that compliments the creaminess perfectly! Just past the halfway point, I get a subtle flavor of nuts. The binder and filler is Honduran aged for 5 years. They are wrapped in a Connecticut (seed) shade leaf honey colored wrapper. The ash is solid and can burn up to 2 hours each and no relights required. 5 Vegas Gold is mild and smooth, but with a robust flavor nonetheless. The price point on these cigars is superb. Its the kind of cigar that you can offer friends who are beginners or just prefer a milder smoke. Because the cigar is so beautiful, there is no sense that you are handing off an inexpensive smoke. Plus the exceptionally comical long point of the torpedo is always a great conversation piece. This is a keeper.
