In a company full of legendary blends, the Gran Reserva is what Fuente calls its “flagship.” This is the backbone that the company is built on. The OpusX hogs the spotlight. Don Carlos is the recent superstar Cigar of the Year winner. And the Hemingway seems to get all the press.
But the Gran Reserva is what made Fuente… Fuente.
The Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Humidor pays tribute to this time-tested blend that is loved the world over, as well as the man who made it all possible those many decades ago, Don Arturo.
The Gran Reserva cigar itself (not included in this listing) is available in a variety of wrapper choices, but underneath it all is an exquisite Dominican tobacco blend that simply can’t be beat. Many have tried, and many have made great cigars, but only Fuente is Fuente. Of course, you can fill your humidor with whatever you like once you receive it.
The first thing you’ll notice once you get it home is the gorgeous art decorating the Gran Reserva humidor, designed by longtime Fuente collaborator Manni Iriarte. The Gran Reserva band seal is there, along with a portrait of Don Arturo Fuente himself, the man who started rolling cigars in the Ybor City neighborhood of Tampa in 1912.
The company moved a number of times after that as it grew and overcame setbacks, ultimately finding a permanent home in the Dominican Republic. To this day, the company is synonymous with the DR, having been the first to really show the world what Dominican tobacco can do.
A longtime tagline is emblazoned across the lid: “A. Fuente elaborado con las mejores hojas de villa Gonzalez.” In English: “Made with the best leaves from Villa Gonzales,” which is the area in Santiago province where the Fuentes grow tobacco and roll their world-class cigars. They’re not just the best leaves in the region, but many would rank them as some of the best in the world.
Lift the lid and the familiar logo of the Gran Reserva is there to meet you, keeping your cigars secure in Spanish cedar until smoking time. The Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Humidor can hold 100-120 of them, so you’ve got ample capacity to store your stogies.
The top layer of storage is divided into three compartments. The metal handles tell you that this tray can be lifted out, revealing a second layer. This layer rests on removable lids for your bottom layer of storage. To preserve good humidification, this layer features 6 pockets for humidification packets. Holes in the lids also allow for airflow.
The Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Humidor is a showstopper. Any lounge, study, or desk space is made more impressive by the addition of a work of art like this. We’re honored to be one of the exclusive retailers for Manny Iriarte’s treasures as he makes them. We hope that they will allow fans to take their enjoyment of Fuente to a new level, becoming part of a story and proud tradition that now stretches beyond a century.
