The original Anastasia was made with the help of none other than two-time Cigar of the year winner Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. It was a balanced, smooth, and spicy Dominican and Nicaraguan smoke that had more than enough full-bodied flavor to make it a favorite of many Caldwell fans. Mr. Caldwell the globetrotter, has seemingly reached a point in his career where his fans know he’s putting out fine smoke and are willing to give his blends a shot sight unseen. After the success of chart-toppers like The King is Dead, The T, Midnight Express, and countless Lost and Found bangers, we’re simply going along for the ride.

Fortunately, the man tends to deliver that good good.

Anastasia Kartel cigars give you plenty to puff on. They’re peppery and buttery, with plenty of earth. This is a cigar that you not only want to keep drawing on but retro haling as well. It reminds us why we love cigars so much. It develops and matures throughout, offering a very rewarding experience for flavor junkies. You really feel like you’re on a date with this fine lady. Towards the last section, you get hints of char and even mint (which Halfwheel called out), giving you so much to look forward to.

It’s a really well-made cigar, too. Did we mention that? Anastasia Kartel has a gorgeous wrapping job and a fine burn, along with her lovely draw. This is what smoking is all about, folks. A delight for all the senses.
