Caldwell Lost & Found 22 Minutes to Midnight
The Caldwell 22 Minutes To Midnight Connecticut Radiante has been on my wish list for some time. I finally secured one from my friendly, local neighborhood tobacconist. It’s a medium-mild, medium strength Connecticut with a toothy wrapper with several nice veins. The first few puffs offer cedar, a splash of spice, a hint of nuttiness (hard to identify exactly what kind – let’s call it “mixed nuts”) and earthy notes of vegetal, floral and mineral – like the aroma of a forest floor after a light rain. The flavors include mild pepper and a toasty, buttery taste. This was my morning coffee stick. I like med-mild Connecticuts with coffee. Caldwell always adds a twist to his cigars and this one is no exception. It’s not your usual Connecticut flavor. Not that it lacks creaminess, but it exudes a different kind of creaminess – like the difference between 1 % milk and whole milk for lack of a better comparison– just a more subdued creaminess than what I usually taste in a med-mild Connecticut. The construction is outstanding - excellent draw, generous smoke output and a perfectly even burn line until the final third when it required a couple of touchups. The Caldwell 22 Minutes to Midnight Connecticut Radiante is an excellent cigar. Smooth as silk. If you’re a fan of mild, medium-mild Connecticuts, you need to put this cigar on your bucket list. It’s a bit pricey, but worth the extra bucks for a super enjoyable hour and 15 minute smoke. I can vouch for the Criollo and Habano as well. Robert Caldwell and Tony Bellato have done well with this blend and these wrappers.

The other 3 22 Minutes are also very good sticks.
