A nice welcome to CAO
I haven’t smoked a lot of CAO’s but was offered this one and found it a nice introduction to the brand. I love a peppery cigar that doesn’t get hot or too spicy and this one was just right. There’s leather, roasted nuts, and always pepper sprinkled lightly on top. I had the CAO America Potomac with a hoppy brew and loved the combo.
Smoth and tasty
I enjoy milder cigars and found this one to be right up my alley. The unique, nutty flavor is very smooth and creamy. There’s a bit of spice but nothing too pronounced, just a nice accent to the complex blend. Lots of smoke and good burn remained to the end. The cigar tunneled just a bit but was easily corrected. I bought a sampler pack of CAO America Potomac stogies and look forward to the next 4.
It redeemed itself
I had a poorly constructed CAO America Potomac about a year ago and swore them off with a half-dozen still in the humidor. I decided to try another one yesterday and had a whole different experience. It was absolutely delicious, robust and perfectly constructed. The wrapper stayed together nicely, the draw and burn was fine. The flavor was complex and bold, reminding me of the Ashton Heritage. Lots of peppery zing that remained smooth to the end. I’m glad I gave it a second chance.
Another winner from CAO
CAO Italia cigars are among my favorite so I was eager to try this one. The CAO America Potomac was as good as advertised, a solid smoke with much to enjoy. It’s fairly mild in flavor but I enjoyed the bready, nutty tastes each puff delivered. I was expecting more zing but it never developed. For me, that was okay. Not a bad imitation of an Ashton Aged Maduro.
Another Respectable Smoke from CAO
Small issues with structural integrity, but otherwise pretty good burn and very good flavor. I noticed leathery tones from the beginning accompanied by sweet morsels early and spices late. Quite a bit like the Perdomo Estate Vintage 1991. The body is more full than the flavor and it gave me a considerable kick. Over all, the CAO America Potomac is a good but not spectacular smoke.
