Diesel Cigars and Rabbit Hole Distillery come together once again for a third collaboration that features a barrel-aged binder leaf. Called Diesel Whiskey Row Founder’s Collection, this limited-edition cigar is made by A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua and ships to retailers on the first of May in time for Kentucky’s Derby Week.
This Diesel Whiskey Row Founder’s Collection Boxergrail L.E. Toro is made in Nicaragua. Outside, you'll find a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Inside, the binder is Nicaraguan, and the filler is Nicaraguan. The Diesel Whiskey Row Founder’s Collection Boxergrail is a Full-Bodied Toro shaped cigar with a length of 6.00 and a ring gauge of 52.
Scandinavian Tobacco Group's Justin Andrews explains that barrel-aging the Diesel Whiskey Row Founder's Collection Boxergrail L.E. Toro imparts flavors such as vanilla, caramel, and black pepper from the barrels. This partnership between Diesel and Rabbit Hole began in 2018, with the binder leaves of those cigars aged in Bourbon barrels, while the 2019 release featured a slight variation, aging the binders in Sherry casks.
