This Dunbarton Muestra De Saka Krakatoa Toro cigar is made in Nicaragua. Outside, you'll find an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Inside, the binder is Nicaraguan Sungrown, and the filler is Nicaraguan Broadleaf, Criollo, and Corojo. This is a Toro cigar with a length of 6.00 and a ring gauge of 48.
Dunbarton Muestra De Saka Krakatoa cigars are a part of a very special series from Steve Saka, the founder of Dunbarton (and one-time Drew Estate President). The name translates to “Saka’s Sample” and refers to the experimental blends that are often produced by dedicated ligadors in cigar factories around the world.
This blend, in particular, was “agonized over” for more than three years as Saka strove to get it right. In the end, creating the flavor profile he wanted required some very special tobacco! The long-filler blend includes Nicaraguan broadleaf, criollo, and corojo ligero – flavorful and robust. This is bound with Nicaraguan sun-grown and wrapped in a Grade A1 Ecuador Habano capa.
All of this together led to the explosion of tastes that is worthy of the name “Krakatoa” (a deadly Indonesian volcano that killed tens of thousands of people in 1883). The flavors include dark chocolate, pepper, and warm leather. It’s sweet and spicy, with a full body that took ages to get just right. This is an incredibly rich cigar and not to be ignored by flavor hounds who want to get the most out of each draw.
Dunbarton Muestra De Saka Krakatoa cigars are also constructed and packaged quite nicely. Individual coffins protect each stogie, and the spiral colita at the head of the sticks will remind you of the volcanic inspiration behind the blend.
Sure, Saka has outdone himself. Light it up and watch your taste buds go boom!
