Thick & Spicy
I have come to consistent enjoy Tatuaje cigars, and the Jivaro No. 1s are probably my 4th or 5th Tatuaje variant. The smoke is consistent throughout all 3 thirds, spicy with citrus notes. I find the 54 ring a bit large for me, and have tended toward using a punch on these sticks. The punch also seems to allow the construction to hold better than a straight or v-cut, as the furry foot allows for some loosening of the binder. But the flavor! It’s a hearty, spicy and meaty experience, stronger than most, and suitably enjoyable.
Take your time
This is a wonderful cigar, it starts off a little strong.... but then it mellows out and is a consistent smooth smoke till the end. I keep these in my humidor... Great Stick!
Easy smoke
This was my first Tatuaje so I have no reference point on their other blends. This is a medium smoke. The construction was good and the pull was decent i.e. not too hard but not overly easy. I can't say anything about the subtle flavors other smokers talk about as I always only taste tobacco when I smoke which I enjoy immensely and this delivered for me. I just don't have the pallet (same problem with wine). There was an average amount of smoke and the strength increased in the middle but the last 3rd I thought mellowed out. I will say for $10 a stogie it's a bit expensive for the experience. I feel they are closer to $4-6 smoke and if they come up on-sale I will be buying more of them.
