The Crowned Heads Four Kicks Capa Especial Aguilas Limited Edition 2021 was on the menu to become the original Crowned Heads cigar back in 2011. As the story goes, there were three blends in the running. Two wrapped in Ecuadorian Habano leaves, and the third wore an Ecuador Sumatra.

Crowned Heads co-founders Jon Huber and Mike Conder voted for one of the Habano blends, and Perez-Carrillo opted for the Ecuador Sumatra. One of the Habano blends won the day, but the blend favored by Perez-Carrillo is alive and well in the Four Kicks Capa Especial Aguilas Limited Edition 2021.

The cigar starts with Nicaraguan and Dominican filler tobaccos. The binder is Nicaraguan, and that Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper sits just above. Rated 93 by Cigar Aficionado and named one of their Top 25 Cigars of 2020, this is one limited edition you do not want to miss. Cigar Aficionado noted flavors of orange zest, hazelnut, leather, and earth.

This isn’t the first time this smoke has mule kicked its way around the block. We first saw this cigar in 2012, though it has changed wrappers several times. The LE 2020 is the first Nicaraguan puro Mule Kick cigar. This time a dark and oily Maduro leaf straight outta Jalapa was chosen for the wrapper. Expect notes of roasted peanut, spicy cedar, and molasses.
